When you are swimming, you are working mostly your lower body, including your guts, hamstrings, calves and quadriceps. You can burn off roughly 400 calories during a vigorous, intense 30-minute swim. But in running you only burn roughly 308 calories during a 30-minute run at 6 mph.

The reason I find swimming to be the best sport is because, it’s fun. It’s something you can do with your friends, get exercise, and still have fun in the summer. All you have to do is learn how to swim and buy a swimsuit. Although you do have to wake up at 6 A.M. It is still worth jumping into a freezing pool every morning.
