How it works

Entertainment is something designed to entertain a audience . Today technology has highly influenced entertainment in a way that when people think of entertainment they don’t think of the definition, they interpret it as technology based. We think of entertainment as movies, music, or something technology based. Within this technology generation and looking at it through entertainment there are three examples that stand out, technology in sports, technology in gaming and technology in movies.

Technology has been around 3000 B.C., but Electronic technology has been around since 1940s. It all started with the ENIAC, or Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer which was created during World War 2, for a project led by John Mauchly, and J. Presper Eckert. The size of the ENIAC was between 40 to 50 feet, and during its time it was the most powerful first programmable general-purpose electronic digital interface computer. After this there were a lot of innovations, but one of the most influential was created by none other than Steve Jobs himself, and yes I’m talking about the iPhone. Known as the greatest phone of its time and still to this day as it continues to excel and compete with Samsung. The first iPhone was created in 2007, and when Steve Jobs first announced it, Apple sold almost 1.5 billion worldwide. It was this huge accomplishment that threw Apple into the super power business that it is today.

Though this didn’t just happen all of a sudden, you see in 2007 in the month of January, Jobs at the Macworld conference, announced the iPhone. But it wasn’t till six months later that this revolutionary device finally get released and changed the way we look at smartphones. You see the reason being because at this time, phone company’s looked to Blackberry for the designing of their phone. But after the innovative iPhone, phone companies did their best to replicate the iPhones big screen, beautiful design, and ever improving cameras. Now today why does this relate to entertainment, because you can’t spell entertainment without an I for iPhone, which kicked off the touchscreen period. After this, entertainment in technology would never be same. We would figure out ways to be even more innovative, like Xbox kinetic, where you get to interact with the game through sensors, or Virtual reality where you not only interact but also see and enter the world. For example, Entertainment has become so rich in technology, it has improved the movie industry, gaming industry, and sports industry.

Improvements in technology means that sports coverage is more powerful than ever before. Before viewers had to select between on a few channels to catch the game–now there are a multitude of options. Coverage is available everywhere, at your fingertips ,all the time. Plus–coverage is now available live and in full-replay. In recent history missing the big game meant that you would have to wait until then following morning when you could read about the results in the newspaper or hear it from your friends. Now, however, people are able to record, save, and replay footage. The increase in technology has provided a convenient opportunity to athletes to be able to elevate their skill. Teams now have the ability to view and analyze videos of themselves in action and can learn to improve technique and form. To continue, playing a game can be defined as an activity that someone engages in for amusement. We play games because it’s fun; it increases brain function, practices cognitive skills and releases serotonin, the happy chemical. As technology has advanced, the thrill and allure of playing games has only increased, with more visual stimulus, creativity, and satisfaction.

From 2016 to now, the global mobile app gaming market grew more than any other gaming type with an expected value of $72.3 billion in 2020 To wrap it all up, technology has simplified life for everyone involved in making a movie. Just 50 years ago, cameras had to have a full crew to operate, and if they wanted to get an aerial shot, they needed an aircraft-mounted camera that was so heavy it weighed more than the plane! And once the film was captured, the editing was done by physically cutting and pasting the film together…not exactly an efficient process.

But today, new, lighter cameras have allowed for clearer images, and shots never thought possible. In Conclusion, we are in one of the richest technology entertainment periods of our time, and who knows what the future holds. So, within this technology generation, and looking at it through entertainment, technology has helped the industries advance and improve. How, well its inspired innovators to think bigger, smarter and radically, creative wise. But overall, our influential technological generation will still continue to cultivate and improve the near future, not only through entertainment but also through law, health, and medicine. Who knows what we will invent next, a new cure for incurable diseases, a new way to receive energy for our devices, or even the latest device, that would change the world forever.
