The Maze Runner Book and a Dystopian Society
The Maze Runner Book and the movie were both adventurous, action packed, and informational. The book was about a group of teenage boys who were place in a dystopian society every month one new person come up from the “box” and lives in the glade their little society Thomas, a teenager, arrives in a glade at the center of a giant labyrinth. Like the other kids dumped there before him, he has no memory of his previous life. Thomas quickly becomes part of the group and soon after demonstrates a unique perspective that scores himself a promotion to Runner status those who patrol the always-changing maze to find an escape route.
Together with Teresa, the only female, Thomas tries to convince the people in the glade that he knows a way out.
The character in the maze runner start with Alby the leader of the people in glade. Newt is second in command he make the choices when alby is gone. Then there’s Gally was the keeper of the builders. Then there is Minho the keeper of runners. Frypan is the keeper of the cooks. Chuck one of the youngest one of them who is chosen to show Thomas around the glade. Finally there is Teresa who is the only girl in the glade who start the change/the ending. Gally is a dark-haired boy who bullies Thomas on his first day in the Glade. He tells Thomas he has seen him before, during the Changing, and has suspicion amongst the Gladers. Tomas is The protagonist of the story. He arrives in the Glade with no knowledge of who he is or was. He only remembers his name and nothing else about his life. Thomas proves to be brave, loyal, and clever, with isolated telepathic powers and a very limited memory of previous knowledge of the Maze. Soon after arriving in the Glade Thomas makes both friends and enemies and proves a leader among the boys.
The movie is very different than the book. In the beginning of the book very Tomas rises in the box both in the movie and the book but in the movie when he get up Gally jumps down and picks him up and pulls him out of the box fighting and resisting Tomas gets up and runs. In the book though someone lowered a rope tied in a big loop for Tomas to step into. This causes a big scene for the readers and viewers because the because it make Thomas's view point different for the readers and viewers. Then in the middle of the book the characters Thomas and Teresa have this telepathic connection which causes a great story but in the movie there was no telepathic connection which make the readers when they watch it feel disappointed. At the end of the book Gally appears and has a knife that he was going to kill tomas with instead he killed chuck then Tomas beats Gally to dead almost. In the movie Gally has a gun and not a knife gally shoots at Tomas chuck jumps in front of it and dies Minho throws a spear at him killing him.
