The Black Sheep of Society

Through the research I have conducted I have learned that today’s society is full of hate. Society judges on what they see on the outside for example the color of someone’s skin. But it also goes deeper then someone’s race they judge on what you identify as and what you worship. Racism affects different races in the job space and the justice system. Hate crimes are a big problem in our society and it seems more and more people are starting to care about it.

I already knew some things on racism from prior knowledge. But this assignment has given me more of an insight on how race and what you look like can change your life. Like how the justice system is so corrupted and how the job space isn’t even safe. Some people can’t even walk around without having to look over their shoulder just because of their race. In my paper it will go into more depth on how these things occur in society.

Race has been a big problem for a long time. Black teenagers are mostly shot by white officers and the media roars with how it is clearly still a problem. This tells how many white people are racially bias against black people. Studies show that people don’t believe there is a racism problem and that just shows there really is a problem.

This helps my paper because this that there is a problem with racism and it has to do a lot with white people mistreating blacks. These studies show that there is an accuracy of the tension whites have on blacks. Lartey, Jamiles. “Louisiana: Advocates Concerned after Three Black Churches Burned in a Week.” 

In one week three black churches were burned down in Louisiana. This was done out of hate for their religion and skin color and is being determined as a domestic terrorism. Authorities think that there is a pattern between all the churches that have been burned and are trying to figure out if its one person or a group of white people.

This helps my paper because it tells how white people take dangerous actions against colored people because of their religious beliefs. It will also help because this story is an event that is helping that no arrests have been made on white people. “Race and Homicide in America, by the Numbers.” 

The numbers for the homicides in America against black people are extremely high. This pertains to the new Black Lives Matter as there has been many unfair shootings to black people that aren’t doing anything wrong, but white cops just shoot. There is also numbers for the killings by black people to the whites and the numbers are high. This helps my paper because black people being shot by white cops is really serious. It gives precise numbers of the homicides with both the white and black victims.

With her life filled with great accomplishments, Michelle Obama has emerged as one of the most influential women of our time. As First Lady of the United States of America she helped create the most welcoming and inclusive White House in history, while also establishing herself as a powerful advocate for women and girls in the U.S. and around the world. She was the first African American women to take this role. In this memoir, a work of reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites readers into her world, telling us the experiences that have shaped her – from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work, to her time spent at the world’s most famous address. This book is going to help my paper because it will show a great example of my topic of race and how it doesn’t have to take control of your life. It shows how she faced her adversity due to the color of her skin.

A man killed his wife friend, kidnapped his wife that he was suppose to stay away from and took her to the side of the road and rapped her. He was sentenced with the death penalty by a white jury judge and it has come to be about because the man was black he wanted everyone to vote for the death penalty as he phrased him as a “ nigger. “ The Supreme court came together and got his sentence to a deduction of life in prison instead of the death penalty because of the racial discrimination by the judge. This will help my paper because even black people in court don’t get the right justice because of racists jury members. Black people are mistreated in the court room especially with the amount of sentencing they will receive just like automatically giving a death penalty because he is black.

Hate crimes have received a lot of attention in the past years, mainly focusing on victims from marginal groups. The present work explores the broad view of hate crimes against non-Hispanic Whites in a majority-White city. This text compares police reports with self-reported victimizations. Hate crimes against members of dominant groups appear fundamentally distinct from hate crimes against members of minority groups and require separate models of their meaning. White residents appear to interpret the motivations for victimizations through a racial lens and reporting them most frequently in disorganized and higher crime places basically the place highly populated with African Americans. This journal will help my paper show the things that different races go through. It will show insight on how minorities are treated by more dominant races in society.
