How it works
My take on President Kennedy's doctrine ""Respond flexibly to communist expansion, especially to guerrilla warfare from 1961 to 1963"". The doctrine by President John F. Kennedy. During the Second World War, the Soviet Union and the United States worked together in fighting Nazi of Germany. The coalition between the two parties was dissolved after the end of the war in Europe. During the Potsdam conference, the tension broke up on July when the two parties decided to share Germany. The pressure was as a result of the firm decision of the Soviet Union to have a defensive zone along Western Europe.
To forester its desire to secure the Zone, Soviet Union come up with pro-communist regimes in Romania, Poland, Albania, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, and lastly Bulgaria. As the Soviet Union concentrated on Pro- communist Regimes, the United States on the other focused on the Affairs of Europe. For instance, the multi-billion dollar marshal plan of 1947 that aimed at stabilizing the economy of Europe and prevent the communist from interfering with the current form government due to political instability. Another example is the Truman Doctrine of 1947 to offer assistance to the countries that had been taken over by the communist.
The cold war was started as a result of the above information. The cold war was mainly a completion from the Soviet Union that emphasized the communist ideology and the United States (Warsaw Treaty Organization) that stressed the ideology of capitalism. The cold war had lasted for ten years before President Kennedy was elected. ""Respond flexibly to communist expansion, especially to guerrilla warfare."" Was the principle ofPresident Kennedy concerning the issue on the cold war?As indicated by A cold war technique organizer that transformed into a government office civil servant. The statement from the JFK started by warning and drawing attention to all the nations that they did not care whether they got any support or any opposition from any party, they could fight the best of their knowledge to restore freedom to the affected nations. It is from this statement of JKF that we can conclude the decision of the president on the cold war issue.
On this segment of this paper we will review all the activities that happened during President Kennedy's term of governance. Both President Kennedy and his Vice President M. Nixon both promised to take a harsh decision against the internal communism and the Soviet Union. They also promised to establish a strong military force in America. Following the spread of communism in Cuba and Vietnam, President Kennedy deployed most of his military in these two areas were during the wars; some significant situations happened. Some of the events included The Arms Race, The Bay of Pigs, The Vietnam War and The Cuban Missile Crisis.
JFK sent his troop to Vietnam to help the Confederate government of Vietnam to fight the nationalist who had disrupted peace in the country. Later, he sent a reinforcement of 12,000 military advisers to Vietnam. According to various records, it is stated that, by 1963, the president had deployed over 13,000 US military in South Vietnam who later developed a networking plan to prevent the communities in the south from interacting with those from North Vietnam. The Cuban Missile Crisis broke following the northern part of Vietnam signing secret treaties with Cuba to help them fight any US invasion in the island by supplying nuclear missiles to North Vietnam. The active military of US oppressed the Soviet Union leaders to an extent they decided to use any available resources to boost their armies by manufacturing new and advanced weapons. Their decision resulted in the manufacturing of very dangerous nuclear arms which were a treat to the security of any nation. This saw Moscow and Washington's cities develop a communication network between the two cities to avoid a break of war due to errors in communication between the two centers.
JKF also affirmed that the economy of U.S could be exploited if they kept spending on military in foreign nations. Southern California is one of the places that the establishment of the aerospace caused depression to the economy. Most of these predictions come to pass and made JFK to be considered as one of the best leaders in laying down future strategies. For example, JFK predicted that Mao which is place would not take before it collapsed and all this come true after Sino-Soviet split.
From the above illustration, I think President Kennedy doctrine advantages over ways the harms caused by the doctrine. In the first position, he took a firm action on the issue of Cold War where he promised not to surrender until they defeat the Soviet Union. He did this because as the US the president the citizen expected him to show confidence in his government. However, in some situation such as The Bay of Pigs, he failed through capturing of his soldiers and some even killed due to poor decisions.
