Importance of Bible
How it works
The mind should be very important to everyone, for it is the gateway for either good or bad to enter through. What enters the mind lurks in the mind. God wants what is paramount for everyone, and for believers to stay true.
God wants what is paramount for everyone. Luke 21:14 says, “But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.” (Luke 21:14 NIV) This passage means do not worry what one will say to those who despise one’s beliefs, for Jesus will guide one’s mind and lips to say the truth.
Suppose one is arguing about something one truly believes in, would one have God’s guidance? Christians are guided by the Spirit, and helped through difficulties, whereas non-believers are not. God shows how He wants what is paramount for everyone by knowing everyone and helping believers.
God knows everyone, one’s true intentions, beliefs, thoughts, and feelings. He has searched everyone’s heart, just as Romans 8:27 says “And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of The Spirit, because The Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (Romans 8:27 NIV) He is able to judge all, for He is the only one with the power of knowing all because He made all. In Isaiah 10:7 God judges the Assyrian King, “But this is not what he intends, his is not what he has in mind; his purpose is to destroy, to put an end to many nations.” (Isaiah 10:7 NIV) Just as He knows the intentions all in the past, He knows the intentions of all now, and of all in the future, because of this, He can help everyone.
God helps everyone who believes in His Son. Christians have the Holy Spirit which helps them through difficulties and removes the blindfolds from their eyes so that they may truly understand and see God’s word and truth. However, Christians still have hardships. Having the Spirit does not make one’s life perfect. Doubt, sin, temptations and every hardship still exist, but now there is a Guide and Helper to walk believers through life’s difficulties. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is God’s will – His good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2 NIV) Once someone believes in their heart that Jesus is God, and He died on the cross to save all from their sins, they will be transformed. God can help them and they can see His help for their blindfolds have been removed by the Holy Spirit. They now can truly understand the Scriptures, which is God’s true and holy Word. Daniel 4:16a says “Let his mind be changed from that of a man.” (Daniel 4:16a NIV) So that the Spirit would come and open his mind so that he may receive the Word. This was God’s advice to a king, which ruled thousands of years ago, however it still very much applies today. One can only understand the world once their eyes are opened by the Spirit.
The Bible tells believers to stay true and to use The Scriptures to do so. There are many supportive verses in The Bible to help believers stay true, John 15:18 says “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.” (John 15:18 NIV) Telling believers not to worry what the world thinks of them, and not to change under pressure. The Scriptures are a tool for believers to use, like a manual which one can check to seek help, look for encouragement. The Scriptures are a huge help to have and maintain a good state of mind, for believers. Luke 24:45 says “Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.” (Luke 24:25 NIV) For The Scriptures are only truly useful to those who believe, the believers have The Holy Spirit which is necessary to understanding The Scriptures. Furthermore, Romans 8:5 says “Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.” (Romans 8:5 NIV) By having the correct mindset one will have the correct actions.
