Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King and other Great Influencers
How it works
Many people are inspired by others when doing something. Not just people are influenced as well, you can also influence the modern world. Yet who has greatly influenced the modern world. Martin Luther King Jr, John F Kennedy, and Albert Einstein are some of these people to have done that.
Martin Luther King, or MLK, was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist. At age five he entered a public school, and when he was twelve his grandmother had died of a heart attack.
The event was so traumatic, more so because he was at a parade when his parents told him not to go. It was told he was so sad he allegedly tried attempting suicide by jumping out of the window from a second-story house. Later in life after his organization of the bus boycott, he went to Birmingham Alabama, which he referred to as “the most thoroughly segregated city in the United States.” Boycotts and marches were conducted, and the Birmingham police department used dogs and fire hoses on the demonstrators, millions saw the images of the events on television. In 1963 thousand came to Washington D.C. to see him deliver his famous, “I Have A Dream" speech, with one of its greatest lines being, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Another great civil-rights activist is Rosa Parks, she received many accolades during her lifetime, including the NAACP’s highest award. Rosa Parks refused to surrender her seat to a white man on a segregated Montgomery bus, which spurred on the 381-day Montgomery Bus Boycott that helped launch nationwide efforts to end segregation on public facilities. The actions of Martin Luther King Jr, and Rosa Parks helped make people of all color equal and allow the modern-day to flourish more with everyone united.
John F. Kennedy was another great influencer of the modern world. He joined the U.S. Navy in the fall of 1941, and his father was expected to be the first Kennedy to run for office but he was killed in the war. The political standard that would have been his father was passed down to John, who planned to pursue an academic or journalist career. He became the first catholic and the youngest man to be elected president. As president, Kennedy confronted mounting Cold War tensions in Cuba, Vietnam, and elsewhere. He was assassinated on November 22,1963, in Dallas Texas. He was among the best-loved presidents in American history and his legacy still lives on in the lives of people.
Last but not least, one of the many greatest minds was Albert Einstein, he was a German mathematician and physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity. He won the Nobel Prize for physics for his explanation of the photoelectric effect in 1921. After being targeted by the Nazis, he immigrated to the United States. Later in life, he focused on unified field theory. “With his passion for inquiry, Einstein is generally considered the most influential physicist of the20th century”, inspiring others to do great things with their lives.
Overall, many people have greatly inspired the modern world. With people like Rosa Parks, and MLK with their civil rights movements, John F. Kennedy with his great leadership, and Albert Einstein with his great physicist cells. With all these people came great influence on the world, maybe in the future, you could be the next greatest influencer.
