Race and LGBTQ Discrimination

Discrimination is inequality or unfairness treatment to a different type of people based on gender, race, age, sex, religion, or person’s characteristic. In the United states, for discrimination to be legalized it must meet a certain number of qualifications that is use by legislation and federal authority. Discriminations affect our society in many ways that are not good. How do we prosper and make the world better if we cannot treat each other the same.

God made us we are his people and all the same in his eyes.

Harassment, inappropriate jokes, name-calling or displays such as a poster or cartoons directed at a person because of their race, color, sex or gender, sexual orientation is discrimination. Any unfair treatment of favoritism shown to one person because or something different the next person does not qualifies to or does not have is discrimination.

Discrimination in Race

Discrimination in race is the same as racism; it has been going on for years. Slavery is one example; blacks were treated unequally because of the color of their skin not the content of their character. Not only in our way of living but also, our jobs too. Borowczyk-Martins say “In the U.S. the average black worker has a lower employment rate and earns a lower wage compared to his white counterpart.

Lang and Lehmann (2012) argue that black–white wage and employment gaps are smaller for high-skill workers. We find that discrimination is quantitatively important to understand differences in wages and job finding rates across workers with low education levels, whereas skill differences are the main driver of those differences among workers with high education levels.” Blacks and whites could not go to the same schools, blacks and whites did not have the same job opportunities, blacks and whites could not sit in the same spots, nor could blacks and whites use the same bathrooms.

Blacks could not vote as whites had the freedom too, blacks worked day and night in the fields while whites watched or beat them. On the other hand, Hispanics go through it as well. For the past years since Donald Trump has served as president he wants to build a wall to keep the Hispanics from entering the United States so they can have a better living, provide for their family and be free. Since the United States is a free country, they want their freedom. There are many stories and cases out that started with discrimination from years ago and it still continues today.

LGBTQ Discrimination

LGBTQ is the abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and queer. Many people and jobs are against people whose sexuality is different than normal. Some may think is not the way of God while others may think it is disgusting. Discrimination is a fact of everyday life. Some people, for example, may be put out from their homes, denied service at restaurants, denied credit, excluded from juries, and more.

Transgender persons are especially liable to be discriminated against; they have changed their outer appearance and inner appearance to be someone they are not. Such discrimination is not always overt and sometimes is subtle or unconscious. Lives have been harmed and killed because someone does not accept your sexuality. Discrimination has to stop.
