What Martin Luther did was important because he fought against the Roman Catholic Church. It also was important because it effects current events that are going on in our current generation. What Martin Luther did sparked a reform because the Roman Catholic Church and the protestant church were so big, and what Luther did opened people’s eyes to show they have a relationship with Christ through faith and direct prayer. so it sparked a reform which is we know as today the “Reformation”

Martin Luther’s actions against the catholic church inspired several people, including Michael King. When the Atlanta pastor, Michael King, traveled to Germany in 1934, he was so inspired by the story of Luther's Reformation that he decided to change his name. He also changed the name of his then 5-year-old son, Michael Jr. From that day on, Michael Jr. was known as Martin Luther King Jr. He inspired several lives including many Christians.

The church teaches that through consecration by a priest, the sacrificial bread and wine become the body and blood of Christ. On October 31, 1517 (Wikipedia.com), Luther published his “95 theses” attacking papal abuses and the sale of indulgences. Luther had come to believe that Christians are saved through faith and not through their own efforts. This Belief changed Martin Luther’s life and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
