Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston

Langston Hughes and Zora Neale Hurston literary works meaningfully apports a positive change and influencing the American literature and politics. Both writers are the most distinguished playwrights and theorists of the Harlem Renaissance. Their sturdy sense of racial complacency made them to lastingly promoting the civil rights of the African Americans, together with the right to fairness. Through their numerous accounts, poetries, dramas, and articles, they boosted the parity in American society. They significantly renowned and acknowledge the Black people culture, and spirituality.

However, Zora Neale Hurston in contrast to Langston Hughes was more interested in showing off her individual artistic talent which has nothing to do with lament of slavery controversy surrounded Zora Neale Hurston in her contribution, for Langston suggested that she was supported by white people and entertained them. Even though she understood Africa American problems, she was still in opposition for their integration, for she thought that by doing so, it would give African American a sense of subservience.

She wasn’t into the idea of being an ex-slave and she wasn’t supportive of the idea of the black American as a quarry of the white society. She was rather attracted to Anthropology. Both writers put an end to their friendship and partnership over a divergence about writing recognitions for a play called Mule Bone. Although the two notable writers praised their people blackness with theirs countless flattering writing, they also have dissimilarity in their works.
