Violence Question 3~The Return/Supervised Visits1.
Investigate the child protection process in your local state and county. The Texas county law demands that anyone who believes that a child is neglected or abused should report to the law enforcement organization, Child Protective Services organization of the Texas Section of Family and Protecting Services. The law gives mandate and power to CPS to investigate any report given to protect all children (Puplampu & Codjoe 2001). According to the Texas law, it defines neglect of a child as any actions done to a child placing him/her in a state which a reasonable person can realize.
These actions are past the child’s level of maturity, mental or physical ability, and they can cause a physical injury or any considerable risk of instant harm to the kid.If you were the practitioner in this case, what recourse would you have if you believed that a CPS worker was negligent? Sue the CPS worker of negligence because she has failed to exercise her duty care for Faith son by taking him to a dentist while a reasonable person would do that in such a situation.
2. What would you recommend the practitioner do with this case? To sue the CPS because they have not taken Faith’s case serious, they also have proof of Bob’s neglect of their son, but still, they don?’t take any action. They also see Faith’s son in bad condition, but they don’t take any necessary action(Puplampu & Codjoe 2001).3. Can you think of any possible issues that might lead the CPS worker to act as if she/he was uninterested in Faith’s story?CPS worker may act as he/she is not interested because they believe Faith is mad or because she is an African hence the worker cannot trust her he/she rather trust bob because of he an American.
Question 5 Shelter Staffing Transition/ Faith lose hope
According to the author’s description, Faith became difficult to handle in the clinic settings.
1. What is your assessment of her situation?[bookmark: _GoBack]Faith can win over the custody of her children if only she does not give up. Due to her race and origin, she sees everyone is against her while there some people who are willing to help such as the Author(Puplampu & Codjoe 2001). Faith can win the case and live with her kids if she sues the CPS’s policy which stops her from changing her son’s diaper hence making her child stay uncomfortable for more than 2 hours.
2. Specifically, what interventions would you employ to help with the situation? Explain your ideas. To sue the CPS, this is because CPS policies are against a child welfare and health. Faith’s baby had diarrhea and Faith was not allowed to change her child’s diaper. This means the child had to stay with feces for more than two hours, this very uncomfortable and can also serious health condition
3. If you were the Director of the shelter, what would your response be to this situation? Report the incident to the director CPS, and if no action is taken, I change the diaper myself.
Question 6 Court/ Custody hearing1.
As the case progresses, the authors present a lot of information describing their professional relationship with Faith. They also discuss the shelter’s professional relationship with Faith. Some practitioners and instructors might say that the shelter and staff have crossed the boundaries of professionalism. Others, including the authors, would say that the shelter and staff provided for Faith in a way that met her needs. Based on the professional literature and your experience, what is your opinion of the professionalism and relationships forged with Faith? Explain your position. The shelter staff has not crossed the boundaries of professionalism.
This is because as the case progressed the Author became Faith’s friend hence she is helping her as a friend. Later in the story, we see the staffs at the shelter even telling Faith to follow the guidelines which every client follows even though they are friends. What is your first hunch regarding the presenting problem? It’s very sad to see all institutions judging Faith because of her race and country of origin. What is the next direction of inquiry and assessment? Explore the practice literature to locate theories or models that apply to domestic violence. Investigate the child protection process in your local state and county. The Texas county law demands that anyone who believes that a child is neglected or abused should report to the law enforcement organization, Child Protective Services organization of the Texas Section of Family and Protecting Services. Faith’s baby had diarrhea and Faith was not allowed to change her child’s diaper. This means the child had to stay with feces for more than two hours, this is very uncomfortable and can also serious health condition. Also, I would advise the practitioner to sue Bob for negligence. Bob has neglected his child because even after denying Faith access to the child he has also failed to remove the child from the state he is in.
The child’s teeth and gums are rotten he is also dirty more often he has urine-stains on his clothing. The child cleanliness of the teeth and his cloth and teeth is beyond his level of maturity, and physical condition to and it has led to the injury of the child’s gum and teeth. Hence bob is guilty of child neglect according to the local state law (Myers et al, 2000).
