Stress: A Universal Experience
Stress is everywhere. A little stress is quite good for the body, but some stress is actually beneficial at some point. Too much stress can wear you down and make you sick, both mentally and physically stressful. Stress is one of the hardest things to cope with.
Stress is a normal part of life that can either help us learn and grow or cause us significant problems. There are many types of stress that we can gather, especially when we are still young, and we might carry it until we get old.
Financial Stress Among College Students
First, Financial Problem is one of the causes of stress for College Students. Financial stress can take months or years to take out because of work and assignments from school, which makes college students stressed, especially those who are working students. The cause of financial stress is a general feeling of sickness. In this way, they are really tired because they need to go to school in the morning and then they go to work after school.
Academic Demands and Their Toll
Second, The requirements from one class alone can be daunting. Most professors ask students to complete homework assignments and readings and prepare for exams. In addition, some students need to write research papers and journals and participate in out-of-class activities. If you combine all those activities and multiply them by three, four, or five classes at a time, then you can recognize how stressful it can be for college students, but not all academic stress comes from the professor. The effect of having so many requirements at school is anxiety and depression. Staying up late is really bad for your health, especially when you really don't know how you will do it or solve the problem that you are facing. These lead to suicidal thoughts that we may sometimes encounter because of fully loaded requirements and meeting the demand of the professors as well in order not to fail the subject.
Third is family stress. Families are not that perfect at all. The imperfections your family may have can lead to an overload of stress. Some of the issues faced by families that can create stress for students include divorce, family finances, and poor communication. Many students in America want to please their parents, even if the parents reassure them they are pleased no matter what. It is an internal drive to make parents proud, to show them they are not wasting their money. The effect of this is that they are getting afraid of opening up to their parents about how or what they are currently feeling while they are in college, and it is very hard to talk about something, especially when your parents are not close to you.
Coping with Stress and Seeking Relief
In conclusion, stress is really hard to cope with because we have so many things that we need to do and a task that we need to accomplish in life, and it is part of adulthood. It is very challenging for us college students to control our own stress by doing the things that make us feel good, health relievers, and even eating. It is good to know what we should do in order to lessen our stress in life.
