How it works
Adoption is a person can legally take care of the child and raise it like it their own. Adoption wasn’t as common as it is today. In prehistoric times, adoption was to help the adults more than the kids. In 1851 the first adoption law was passed in Massachusetts. In the mid- 1900s mostly all states passed the laws. The law was parents had to go through a process before their ability to adopt a kid. In this article it says “The first adoption law to protect United States children was passed in Massachusetts in 1851.
The law states that the adoptive parents must have consent from the child’s birth parents. It also states that adoptive parents must be capable of raising the child.”( WebAdmin, November 11, 2017 page 1). A lot of american kids had been adopted through foster care. In today’s times, there are so many laws that secure children find a family. There are so many kids just waiting to have a family for their own.
How it works
Did you know that 400,000 children in foster care? Over 100, 00 of the kids are waiting to be adopted. People should adopt children. In this article, it says “Of the 400,000 children in foster care, more than 100, 00 of them are waiting to be adopted.”(Copyright 2002-2019 Adoption Exchange Association, Pages 2-3). My first reason is for a woman who can’t naturally have kids. In this article, it says “struggled through months and even years of infertility treatments that have ultimately failed. So, they decide to pursue adoption as a different way to become parents.”(Copyright 2019 American Adoptions, Page 1). My second reason is it’s helping a family member who is not able to raise the child. Lastly, my third reason is the same-sex couple can adopt a child.
My first reason is for women who naturally can’t have kids. The most common reason why people adopted children is because some can’t have kids. There are much reasons why women can naturally produce kids. One reason is a woman is not ovulating, and the egg is poor quality. Another reason is endometriosis and miscarriage. Endometriosis is a tissue outside the uterus that can cause pelvic pain. A miscarriage is a failure and the natural death of an embryo or fetus.
It can be stressful for a woman going through this process. For a woman who is stressed out and is unable to have kids, adoption is a great second option. In this article is says “To me the answer is quite simple. If you can’t have children the natural way, adopt. There are SOOOO many children already out there, just wanting to be loved. ~yip”(Copyright © 2018 Creating a Family, Inc. page 1). Adoption is a great option because there is a child waiting to be loved. Bringing a child into your family can be life changing for them. It can be the greatest decision for the child.
My second reason is it can help a family member or friend who is not able to raise children. So people are just not ready to raise kids. There are so much reasons why a parent is unable to raise the child. One reason the parent is forced to give up their kids for adoption. For an emaple the children could be living in poor conditions. A second reason is sometimes the people can be too young or too old to raise a kids. For an example some pregnant teens give their baby for adoption.
The reason why teenage girls put their child up for adoption is because they have to finish school, and live their teenage lives. Plus their also young too. In this article it says “If you are unsure about parenting as a teenager, or if terminating your pregnancy is not possible, know that adoption is always an option for a teenage pregnancy. In choosing adoption, you can give your baby the gift of a life with adoptive parents of your choosing — who will give him or her all the opportunities that you may be unable to as a teen mother.”(Copyright 2019 American Adoptions page 3). People who are too old raise a child gives them up for adoption because they don’t how long there going live. Plus it’s better for the kid. My third reason is the medical costs. For example the children are sick and the parents are unable to back for their health.
Lastly, my third reason is the same-sex couple can adopt children. All lot of LGBT couples want kids. In the United States the same-sex parents are more likely to adopt children than the different sex parents. In this article it says “Same-sex parents in the United States are four times more likely than different-sex parents to be raising an adopted child. Among couples with children under the age of 18 in the home, 13% of same-sex parents have an adopted child, compared to just 3% of different-sex parents.2”( Copyright 2019 LifeLong Adoptions. There are so many advantages for the child. One advantage is kids that are grown up in the same-sex household are more likely to accept equality and fairness. Another advantage is kids that are grown up in the same-sex household are more likely open-minded and neutral. Also, another advantage is same-sex couples are more open-minded when welcoming their child decision making. In pennsylvania there are LGBT adoption laws.
One law is a single LGBT person can adopt children. Another law is the same-sex couples are able to adopt kids. Also, another law in pennsylvania is the same-sex partner can adopt the partner’s child. Same-sex couples are perfect to adopted because it will show the kid it okay to be different, and the kids can be whatever they want to be when they grow up. Same-sex parents are just as equal as straight parents.
