How it works

Many of us in this classroom grew up in a loving and caring family but few have had the same opportunity. There are many students that grew in the foster care system but wasn’t that caring for most people in that system. Some kids in the system were mistreated and didn’t really have that much support. So, for those of you who want to be parents in the future, just think about adopting. Wouldn’t you like to give the same opportunity, that you have gotten? Quote “Many of America’s child welfare systems are badly broken — and children can suffer serious harm as a result.

Some will be separated from their siblings. Others will be bounced from one foster care placement to another. Too many will be further abused in systems which are supposed to protect them. And instead of being safely reunified with their families — or moved quickly into adoptive homes “ End Quote This quote, come comes from “The Children Rights Organization” They are one of many organizations that is trying to be the voice of many foster youths. There are over 690,000 children in U.S. foster care. Fewmany get to have their voices heard. Many go through physical and emotional stress and abuse. They are usually put into a home, stuffed with many others. Sharing rooms with other children, they don’t know. Simply Picture just being put into a room with 10-12 other children you don’t know. How scary would I child feel? Many kids are placed here cause they are sometimes removed from their parents due to it not being unsafe for the child, sometimes abused or neglected. quote “Foster care is meant to be temporary—until a parent can get back on track” End quote. But a bit over half the time, it becomes a permitted home for these foster youth. Many of you are probably asking yourself, why should this matter to me.

Simply ask yourself for a quick second. If some could help you when you need help, what can’t you? Adopting has so many benefits that come with it. It helps at least one of them feel more welcomed worldwide. What are your morals and what do you believe in. Don’t you wish to see a change in the world cause that chance starts with our youth and many of our youth needs help? Maybe, you don’t care about this, but what happens if you want kids the day of tomorrow and can’t have any, then what. What are you going to do? Or, maybe you simply want to skip through the pain process and just have a kid. Adoption can be your plan B, Adoption is your friend. For those of you who want to adopt a kid but can’t afford it, don’t worry about that. There is help you can get, such as getting state-funded healthcare for the child, Monthly checks for the parents to help the child out with basic needs, and a tax credit of over $13,000 and can be used for five years. People tend to forget that adopting is another solution, so what we can do is spreading the word and talk about. When you have the time to look inside foster homes and see how things really are. So we think about adopting, you can change someone’s life. You have anything to lose. Simply know if you adopt it may take some time to get through the paperwork and some interviews but it’s worth it. If you still aren’t ready, then you can always go to a foster home and do some volunteer work, maybe become a mentor for a foster child. If you still can’t do either and have time at home and space, think about being a respite care provider.

Quote “Respite care workers provide parents and other caregivers with short-term child care services that offer temporary relief” end quote. There are always different ways to help foster youths. You should find the most suitable way you can and help. Even just donating supplies to foster care organizations. If you don’t have anything to give, that’s totally fine but the thing you can truly do Is sometimes space and pray for them and hope someone comes along the way and adopts and gives them a caring family, that will push them forward in life-like your families did with you.
