How it works

Tattoos have been around for some time now, and have always been symbols of expression. People tattoo themselves because it’s part of their personal image or lifestyle. While many believe them to be risky, dangerous, and dirty, others-like myself-do not. Tattoos can symbolize personal losses or life experiences, or they can just be art. Each tattoo has a meaning and a story to tell, it is used to mark important events or people in a permanent way.

There is a lot that goes with the decision making process of tattoos.

The attraction to tattoos varies by the person. Some choose to get a tattoo with their friends because it’s a representation of their bonds or just to be cool. Others choose to get a tattoo for a certain meaning behind it. The meaning behind the tattoo could be anything from a memorial for a lost loved one to a favorite childhood memory. When a person chooses a tattoo with some type of meaning behind it, they’re telling a story in the form of body art. There story can depict an emotional trauma, a certain season in their life or stand as a sentimental memory. Various groups of people will tattoo their nations flag or colors to symbolize their heritage.

The location of the tattoo will tell you a deeper meaning of what the tattoo represents. However the location of the tattoo exceeds what the tattoo really is. Tattoos on the left side are said to represent something meaningful, because the heart is that side. The forearm represents power and strength. If a tattoo is at the top of your neck it means that the person is tough and they’re open to everyone. The neck is a very sensitive area and getting a tattoo there is very painful.

Tattoos behind the ear are often small and sweet, usually hidden and not exposed too much. People who have tattoos in this area are free spirits, they like having the option to show it off and hide it. When it comes to tattoos on the lower back the meaning differs between men and woman. For woman it says they’re confident and sensually aware, it also means that they’re feminist and they often regret it later. For men it means they’re confident and usually always working out.

Depending on the size of the tattoo on the chest it represents something that is very close to the person. When the tattoo is close to the heart it symbolizes something that was important to the individual. Tattoos on the chest have a different meaning when it comes to woman. A tattoo on the chest of a woman represents a symbol of love and it usually has a romantic meaning. A thigh tattoo on the other hand tends to have some sort of sentimental value. It’s kind of mysterious tattoo because it’s up to the person on if or when they want to show it.

Tattoos on the wrist are usually done by woman who want to be different and have a tattoo that’s unique to them. Women choose this area because they don’t want to have a bigger more visible tattoo. When it comes to arms it all depends on the size of the tattoo. If the person has a half sleeve they want to showcase their creativity, but they also want to have a career. If an individual has a full sleeve they want to live life by their own rules and aren’t focused on having a typical career.

If you were to ask someone with a tattoo if they have more than one, the answer will most likely be yes. Some think that if you get one you will want more. Tattoos are a form of art that makes a person feel more significant, beautiful, and even more alive. That feeling wears out when a tattoo gets old. That in turn causes a person to want that feeling again and get another tattoo.

There are pros and cons to getting a tattoo. Things to consider are; the purpose of the tattoo, the location, and whether or not it may lead into an addictive habit. Tattoos can display an individual’s creativity and allow them to be different from everyone else. It allows them to create something special to them that will be with them for the rest of their lives.
