Importance of Recycling
Recycling helps us to convert our old products into new useful products. In other words, it is good for the environment. Since we are saving resources and are sending less trash to the landfills, it helps in reducing air and water pollution. Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites. Recycling helps to reduce the pollution caused by waste. Recycling reduces the need for raw materials so that the rainforests can be preserved.
For example, when I was little boy my brother and I use to always go to the storage to get old things to make new stuff. I remember this one time when my brother and I got some old boxes and motorcycle wheels to create a mini go-cart. My mother told us we were helping save the earth. I didn’t know what that meant at the time but, now that I looked back I see that she was talking about recycling. Instead of letting the boxes get dusty and old. We reused it and put them to good use.
If we don’t recycle we will use up all the natural resources that the world has to offer. Then life would get pretty hard. You as a person won’t see any difference in tomorrow if we all stopped recycling today. In fact, everything will seem normal. However, for the landfills there will be a huge impact. On average, google says, each person generates 4.38 pounds of waste per day. If all that waste goes to the trash multiply it by 7.125 billion people on earth that’s 31.2 billion pounds of waste in landfills every single day. Recycling for one day will be most noticeable on the planet, because our natural resources can run out. Sure, for every tree we cut down more trees are planted, but we cut them down faster than they then they grow back. This means that if we’re not recycling, we’ll run out of resources in no time. Now, take all of that and multiply it by all the days in a month. A year. A decade. It doesn’t take a lot to see what’s going to happen and unfortunately it doesn’t look so good. Even one day without recycling can cause immediate problems for our planet. Compounded over the long term, a move away from sustainability would have a serious negative impact on the world and our way of life let me not get started on deforestation if u didn’t know what deforestaion mean is when we cut down trees top make things like paper pencils cardboard and etc. Deforestation is when someone cuts down a large amount of trees for example farmers cut down trees to make space to grow crops or to make space for their livestock .business also cut down trees to make products like paper, frontrunner, cardboard and etc. Deforestation can have a negative impact on the Environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. Eighty percent of Earth’s land animals and plants live in forest, and many cannot survive the deforestation that destroys their homes. With that being said if we recycle more we would have to cut down less trees which would save more animals lives.
For me personally recycling is very important to me because I don’t like to waste thing, I Would rather go get something old and make something new with it instead of going out and wasting money . Most of my friends don’t think it matters if u just put everything in the trash. I always tell them it’s best to just recycle everything you can, because you’re helping out more than you think, one time my mother took my friends and I to the park and as we was playing and having fun, when we started to notice that it was quite a lot of trash around. My friend Donte said see why should we recycling when people just throw their trash everywhere. I responded and said it’s not everyone it’s just that some people don’t think that’s it’s that important, they don’t see any defects to the world at the moment but when we recycle it’s not going to hurt use but it will hurt the future so think about yours kids, and your grandkids.
