Views on Afghanistan in “A Thousand Splendid Suns”
How it works
In class we have been reading the book ""A Thousand Splendid Suns"" by Khaled Hosseini and after reading the book in class ""A Thousand Splendid Suns"" it has changed my views on Afghanistan and its people A thousand splendid suns was about mariam and what her life was like before the Taliban took over then it was about Laila's life was during the war and before the Taliban took over and after Afghanistan took back its country from the Taliban then after we read A thousand splendid suns we watched a documentary called ""Osama"" was a film about a little girl named Osama and it was about how her life was about how it was like living under Taliban rule and what she had to do to survive.
I think they were a lot of similarities between A thousand splendid suns and Osama but they are very different at the same time.
In this paragraph i'm going to be telling you all the similarities between A thousand splendid suns and Osama the first similarities is place they both took place in the the same place they both took place in Afghanistan and they both talk about how hard it is to a women in afghanistan and they both talk about the taliban and how the taliban changed their lives for the worse they both had strong female roles and they both had a protagonist and a complex character in a thousand splendid suns the complex character was jaili and the protagonist was rasheed and in Osama the complex character was espandi and the protagonist was mullah sahib.
The differences between the two is that in the book it focused on the stories of mariam and laila and in the movie it was all about osama they also had two different settings in the book the they focused on how it was like before and after the Taliban took over and what it was like when they were overthrown and the protagonist weren't the same and everyone had different stories to tell us about their journey and what it was like for them and their families no stories were the same they each had something to say and in the book we got to see how it was for women but in the movie we got to see how it was like for men.
In collision we had read a book called a thousand splendid suns and we had watched a movie called osama and if i was to compare them both you find similarities but you would find differences between the two I have learned a lot from reading and watching theses amazings stories.
