Median wage is where some workers earn more than half and the others earn less. Studies show that the lowest 10 percent earned less than 19,220 dollars, and the highest 10 percent earned more than 208,000 dollars (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The work environment of athletes or sport competitor varies some athletes must travel to sport events. The types of travel include by bus, plane, or international (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

As a professional wrestler most try to venture out into wrestling for different companies. The biggest professional wrestling company in the world is World Wrestling Entertainment this huge company requires their workers to travel international entertaining millions around the world. Workers of this company train for over 10 years sometimes just to make it to the main roster of this company. On the bright side to become an athlete or sports competitor requires no specific education. Athletes or sports competitors practice for years to gain experience (Bureau of Labor Statistics). There are so many advancements to obtain in becoming an athlete or sports competitor.

Rather it is merging into different companies or using their skills to advance to different major leagues. Turning professional is the biggest accomplishment any athlete could achieve. Athletes and sports competitors usually begin their career choice immediately but often spend time in the lowest range of the sport. This may benefit some athletes the more experience gained the greater chance at advancing to higher accolades in their sport. A sport such as baseball has both a minor and major league most athletes begin in the minor league. Professional athletes advance by continuous growth. Others may receive endorsements from various companies and brands (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

In addition, 3 other related jobs are coaches and scouts, fitness trainers, and recreation workers. Coaches guide athletes to success in their sport. Scouts search for new athletes amateur or professional. In other words scouters put in a good word for aspiring athletes that may impress the head of their desired sport. Coaches also help scouters find new athletes. Fitness trainers and instructors lead, instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercises, strength training and stretching. Which in turn keeps people in better shape both physically and mentally.

They work with people of all ages and skill levels. An increase in fitness trainers and instructors could possibly be the result of lower obesity rates in America. Recreation workers design and lead activities to help people stay active, improve fitness, and have fun. They work with groups in summer camps, fitness and recreational sports centers, nursing care facilities, nature parks, and other settings. They may lead such activities as arts and crafts, sports, music, dramatics, or games.

Recreational workers try to make the world of physicality fun. Another related job would be umpires, referees, and other sports officials. They preside over competitive athletic or sporting events to decide penalties according to the game. Referees hold the job of keeping sports such as wrestling, football, basketball, or soccer running smoothly. Although athletes and sports competitors typically have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, no formal education is required for them to enter the occupation. They must have extensive knowledge of the way the sports are played-especially its rules regulations, and penalties (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

A good source of education could reap with benefits according to the type of athletic occupation one may consider pursuing. Majoring in Theatre would be a thoughtful choice it allows someone to learn to be comfortable in a big crowd. This is offered at the school of Middle Tennessee State University. The major Theatre is accredited by the National Association of Schools Theatre and is designed to provide students with maximum opportunities to develop theatrical and practical appreciation of Theatre Arts.

Preparation is offered for the pursuit of graduate study in a number of fields or for entry into professions including secondary school teaching and professional theatre. Students majoring in Theatre must receive a grade of C (2.00) or better in all courses in their major for the course to count as prerequisite or to count toward graduation. Students pursuing the B.S. degree must complete a cognate. Employment growth will be primarily due to population growth and increasing public interest in professional sports. There are few certifications as an athlete or sports competitor but most importantly they must be licensed or certified to practice in some sports or localities.

For example, race car drivers need to be licensed to compete in various races. The governing body of the sport may revoke licenses and suspend participants who do not meet the required performance or training. In addition, athletes may have their licenses or certification suspended for inappropriate activity (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

There are various leagues athletes or sports competitors can take part in once they receive their certifications. Athletes typically learn the rules of the game and develop their skills by playing the sport at lower levels of competition. For most sports, athletes compete in high school and college athletics or on club teams. In addition, athletes may improve their skills by taking private group lessons or attending sports camps(Bureau of Labor Statistics).
