How to be Successful Without Attending College

Ladies and gentlemen, how important is a college degree in today’s society? As Bill Gates said, “I failed in some subjects in exams, but my friend passed in all. Now he is an engineer at Microsoft, and I am the owner of Microsoft.” So, I have three points to tell you that college is not the last target for everyone. These are:

1. you have to find and follow your passion.
2. having a no-limits patience. 
3. to be a lifelong learner.

Ladies and gentlemen, you can design your life in your own way.

Ladies and gentlemen, my first point is that you have to find and follow your passion. It’s the first step that can lead you in a different way. You need to make sure what’s a thing that you really want for your life. For example, Steve Job, a Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of Apple Incorporated, said, “Do what you love. People with passion can change the world for the better.” He also claimed that his passion made his works all the dissimilarity. In addition, a recent study by researchers at the National Academy of Science has shown that science backs up this belief that passion drives success. The examination of the post-graduate success rates showed that more than eleven thousand West Point students who had passion in their career choice could be succeeded more than those who chased awards and recognition. So, finding your passion and purpose in life is a good way to achieve your goal. You can design your life in your own way.

Ladies and gentlemen, my second point has a no-limits patience. As the proverb that, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” Everything can happen if you have tried it enough or not abolished it before. Bill Gates, the principal founder of Microsoft Corporation, said, “Patience is a key element of success.” He talked about the fact that every lasting, valuable thing in our life has to take time. According to the famous proverb that Rome was not built in a day. I learned that there is no red carpet in real life, so we have to keep every mistake to be the experience. Then all those bungles will be the teacher for you to do anything in life. Working hard without impatience can help you to succeed in life. You can design your life in your own way.

Ladies and gentlemen, my third point is to be a lifelong learner. This point is the most important part of making you succeed. You have not only to learn in subjects but also learn in making a living. “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune,” a famous motivational speaker, author, entrepreneur, investor, and business philosopher Jim Rohn said. Education is not enough for everything in our life because the best lesson is the experiences that you have learned by yourself. Moreover, you should dare to do something new, which can make you get yourself out of your comfort zone. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook, said, “You are better off trying something and having it not work and learning from that than not doing anything at all.” If you never stop to learn, your life will never stop improving. You can design your life in your own way.

In conclusion, Ladies and gentlemen, Bachelor’s degree is not the goal for everyone. Not all people that not attend college are always failing in their life, and there are many examples of people who success in their life without a college degree that we have seen. Everyone can be successful in their life if they go through the right way: find and follow their passion, have a no-limits patience, and be lifelong learner.
