The album took the number one spot on the US Billboard, earning 5 Grammy awards. She stunned audiences by releasing her fifth studio album and has performed at the Superbowl twice. Known as Queen Bey, she was recognized as the highest-earning female musician of the year. Her album “Lemonade” grossed about 250 million. Beyonce’s earnings outpaced those of Adele (69 million) and Taylor Swift (44 million). She is world-famous and very popular.

She released many popular albums, but her most recent one, “Lemonade” was unleashed on April 23, 2016. It contains 12 songs - "Pray You Catch Me", "Hold Up", "Don’t Hurt Yourself", "Sorry", "6 Inch", "Daddy Lessons", "Love Drought", "Sand Castles", "Forward", "Freedom", "All Night", "Formation".

As of 2018, her net worth was about 355 million. Her latest album, in her words, indicates, "if life gives you lemons, make lemonade." This colludes with a background story from her grandmother that goes, “Take one pint of water, add a half pound of sugar, the juice of eight lemons, the zest of half a lemon." The album references both the singer’s personal struggles and some of the issues faced by Black women today and throughout history. She gave her album an interesting title, an ode to overcoming hardship and turning adversity around. The lyrics have been passed down from generation to generation, from her grandmother on her mother’s side.

Pray you catch me - This is the opening to the track ,from her discovering and struggling with and finally forgiving her husband Jay-z’s cheating. The lyrics from this song clearly expresses her feelings on how she was feeling at the moment and she used it all in her song, relieving her pain. Although he was the love of her life they went through a rough path. All she wants is honesty and loyalty but she can’t trust. Starting the lyrics with “You can taste the dishonesty ,it’s all over your breath. “My lonely ear pressed against the walls of your world”. The chorus indicates looking for clarity and maybe eavesdropping. Breaking one of the bonds of a healthy relationship: Trust.

Hold up- Can't you see there's no other man above you?

What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you

Hold up, they don't love you like I love you

Oh, down, they don't love you like I love you

She’s trying to get her husband’s attention and get him to realize that she loves him and nobody else will ever love him like she does. In the lyrics, she explains how she’s not trying to get out of hand and out of character but it can happen because he is her true love. She is asking him why let this good love go to waste, he’ll never find somebody better.

Sorry- She isn’t apologizing for her anger. She doesn’t care about the consequence of her rage. Jay-Z had a close relationship with another female, a famous designer Rachel Roy for several years and in 2014 ,it was reported that roy was being flirtatious and trying to come on to him. In her lyrics she said “He only want me when i'm not there, He Better call becky with the good hair. Beyonce was pointing her finger at roy with her “Becky with the good hair “. while making this song she was feeling angry and jealous and she was trying to get back at him. She’s dogged by rumors and doesn’t know what to believe.

Daddy Lessons- this song is about beyonce’s childhood roots in texas and the lessons she learned from her father. Her father helped her in so many ways, first off he managed her career as a child so without him who knows where she would’ve left off. He always told her not to cry and to always watch over the family. Being tough wasn’t a choice and he always wanted her to be able to do everything that she said she couldn’t do. The main theme is the similarities between fathers and husbands, if beyonce could forgive her father for when he was gone can she forgive her husband also ?

Sandcastles- she’s comparing her relationship with the quote “Like the waves that wash sandcastles away”. She claims reality has tested their marriage and the promises that were made.

I made you cry when I walked away

And although I promised that I couldn't stay, baby

Not every promise works out that way, oh, babe.

Not every promise works out that way.

Her marriage sometimes reaches points where they feel the need to break down and separate, but the love is very strong, and they promised that they would never walk out on each other when times get hard.

"All Night" is about her deep pain on an emotional journey. The song illustrates wise love and the ability to overcome. She expresses her pain and feelings through the songs. Despite everything, she still wants Jay-Z by her side all night.

"Freedom" is a song dedicated to black women. This song introduces the scene "hope" and features the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and others. Throughout the song, she alludes to herself as a force of nature who can empower other women, addressing the history of slavery of African Americans. The main topic of this song is social equality justice. She feels there needs to be a change because of the rampant negativity in the world, so she decided to write a song for "we" the people to hear and voice their opinions.

In "6 Inch", she crafts an anthem empowering women to stay on their grind and keep earning their money. She uses the symbol of six-inch heels to signify wealth and power. Beyonce has worked hard for her success in life. In her song lyrics: "She works for the money, she works for the money

From the start to the finish

And she's worth every dollar, she's worth every dollar

And she's worth every minute

She stacks her money, money everywhere she goes"

These lines mean that she wants nothing but success in her life, and it takes hard work to achieve your goals in life.

In most of her music, she writes about the times and memories she has shared with her husband, and the rough times she has gone through. However, how she overcame these obstacles and achieved fame is what is truly amazing. Her music is extremely popular at this time, and she has a huge impact on her fans, many of whom look up to her.
