How it works

When thinking about religion you would never come to think that any religion is okay with homosexuality. Homosexuality is something that is not a popular topic that is talked about in church. Some churches will maybe come across that topic very briefly but will never have a full series like they do with a series regarding family, your walk with Christ, prayer,etc.. Homosexuality is a great topic as the percentage of the LGBQT population rises in the U.S. In this essay you will come to find out what different religions and churches have to say towards the topic of ‘homosexuality’.

As I did my research, I noticed, through surveys, that more and more people are becoming accepting to the LGBQT community. This has made a stir up in religion because it has been said that religion has been a source of comfort and sorrow for people in the LBQT community. Many LGBQT members were brought up in churches and some remain to value their religion, while others apart of the LGBQT community have either been forced or left because their actions were frowned upon.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, a content which contains authoritative opinions and lessons of the Church, names “gay acts” as “inherently shameless and in opposition to the normal law,” and names “gay tendencies” as “impartially disordered.” While the Catholic Church does not consider homosexuality corrupt all by itself, it has a negative demeanor toward it. The 1986 Letter states, “In spite of the fact that the specific tendency of the gay individual isn’t wrongdoing, it is a pretty much solid propensity requested toward a natural good abhorrent; and along these lines the tendency itself must be viewed as an objective disorder.”

Mormons have a very similar view except, they see it as a curable condition. The individuals who don’t follow up on their sexual appeal, “appreciate full association in the congregation, which incorporates holding the ministry, doing reasons for living, and going to the sanctuary.” The Church considers Mormons who follow up on sentiments of same-sex fascination in have resisted church lessons on profound quality and in this manner are liable to religious control. They might be put on post-trial supervision (for those wanting to change their conduct), “disfellowshipped” (rejected from taking an interest in the holy observances for a limited timeframe while they right their conduct) or exiled. Individuals who face a disciplinary committee and deny apologizing or demand that their emotions are fundamental to their identity quite often are suspended. They lose their enrollment and can’t take an interest in any capacity other than go to meetings. Same-sex marriages is not permitted in these churches.

In Hinduism, gods can take numerous structures, yet all join in the widespread soul of Brahman. In contrast to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, which center around the activities of a solitary lifetime, Hindu conviction focuses on a persistent procedure of birth and resurrection that at last discharges the genuine self from the restrictions of body and the conscience, a liberating of the soul called moksha. That procedure incorporates a discharge from physical encounters, including sexuality. Hindu consecrated writings, be that as it may, don’t recognize hetero and homosexual acts. While Hindu holy messages don’t explicitly utilize those terms , they do recognize procreative sexual acts (inside marriage) and non-procreative sexual acts, for example, oral, and so forth. The last are expressly debilitated not for the regular man but rather for brahmanas and ministers. Since there is no focal Hindu authority, outlooks to LGBTQ issues shift at various sanctuaries and ashrams. The Hindu American Foundation noticed that Hinduism does not give a crucial profound motivation to dismiss or exclude LGBTQ people. All things considered; some Hindu groups remain on being unaccepting of LGBTQ individuals.

As ahead of schedule as 1977, the Central Conference of American Rabbis passed a goals that called for “enactment which decriminalizes gay acts between consenting grown-ups, and forbids oppression them as people.” They further made plans to “attempt programs in collaboration with the all-out Jewish people group to execute the above stand.” Also, the Union for Reform Judaism passed a goal in 1977 expressing that “gay people are qualified for equivalent assurance under the law” and confirming their resistance to “victimizing gay people in regions of chance, including business and lodging.” In the decades following the selection of these two goals, the Union for Reform Judaism and the Central Conference of American Rabbis have ignored twelve goals regarding this matter, covering a scope of issues from same-sex marriage to the incorporation of LGBTQ Jews in Jewish life. As a Christian, I always viewed homosexuality as a sin. I view it as a sin because God made this world so perfect and detailed that he created male and female with perfect body parts for each other to be able to reproduce and multiply. That is why a two mean cannot have a child together and neither can two men. If you notice, a lesbian couple needs male sperm to have a child would never be able to get pregnant on their own and vice versa for a couple, they would need a surrogate to carry the child. I also believe that same-sex attraction is not a sin,. However, if that person that is attracted to the same-sex acts on their feelings then it is a sin. For example, if a female attracted to another female does not flirt, kiss, nor has any sexual relations with that person then it is not a sin. However, if that person acts on their feelings towards the same sex and flirts, kisses or has any sexual relations with that person then it is a sin. God knows everything about you, who you are and what you’re thinking before you can even say a word. So he knows the inner struggles people are going through but he wants you come to him and throw out all your problems to him. If you are someone dealing with homosexuality, he wants you to come forth and say “Lord this is what I am dealing, I am not going to act on my feelings, guide me.”
